I am trying to fill the 1961 Topps Stamps Album. Each team was represented by 7 to 13 stamps although the majority, including all the NL teams, had 12. My guess is that a trade or two after the player selections were made changed the team numbers. The two AL expansion teams, the Senators and Angels had 7 stamps each and all were done in brown. The Twins players' stamps give the team as "Minn.-St Paul" (green stamps) or "Minnesota Twins" (brown stamps). From that, it seems the brown stamps were a 'second' series' printed after the green ones. The team album pages all have room for 10. Obviously, some teams had more stamps printed then there was room for in the album.
The list below shows the team with the number of issued stamps in parenthesis. Crossed off names indicate stamps I have in the album. Also noted are how many of the remaining stamps I need to fill that team's page. The majority of the stamps are green with some (as indicated alongside their name) done in brown. *EDIT* My original checklist was incorrect/incomplete as to the colors. I'm finding brown stamps not originally marked as such on the list. I will update the list as I find them. BTW...Al Kaline is found in both colors.
**UPDATE** I've read that there are 104 of each color. I will try to find every stamp and list the correct color for each.
Any help is appreciated. I have many to trade if you are interested.
