It occurred to me tonite that I had failed to scan and post this card that came from my '17 Archives blaster. Topps gets a big tip of the cap for using this Reggie Jackson photo. I've seen it on 'concept cards' before but not as a real release. Maybe I'm mis-remembering here.
But either way I really, really liked this one and wanted to give it it's due before I put these things to bed.
My first Reggie card was the 88 Score with the Orioles. Between that and The Naked Gun movie, I had no idea he was an A or a Yankee.
ReplyDeleteNever realized Reggie was an Oriole until I saw that 88 Score card that Matt mentioned. Kudos to Topps for creating this card.
ReplyDeleteIf there were a "short term stop" Hall of Fame, Reggie's Orioles jersey would certainly be hung at the gates. It's awesome that Topps decided to mix it up a little bit and show some love to Reggie's forgotten tenure.
ReplyDeleteI never realized Reggie played such a long season in 1987, since there weren't any real cards out there in 1988 with that. Shocking...
