---When you're in a grocery store line, and have been for awhile, and they open a new line without moving over the people who have been waiting.
---When you are doing 10 over the limit and you look in the rear view mirror and all you see is the grill of a jacked-up 6 wheel pick-up truck. Get off my back, dammit.

That's a 2014 Leaf Charles Sims that I picked up for my University of Houston collection. Except Leaf messed up. Charles Sims was NOT a "four-year running back at West Virginia." He played three seasons as a Houston Cougar and racked up numerous awards and records at UH. He graduated in the spring of 2013 and as such he was able to transfer with his one year of eligibility left. He chose to follow his former offensive coordinator to WVU. A lot of Cougar fans were upset by this but I never begrudge a kid from making a decision that may benefit his future.
He got a degree, played his heart out at UH, and left on good terms as far as I heard. But here is what Leaf said on his card:
After his one season at WVU he was drafted by the Tampa Bay Bucs in the third round. I wish him well. Go Coogs!!
I thought that this post might have been just videos of Chris Berman, to be honest.
ReplyDeleteI'm saving that one for my internet retirement
DeleteI like how no elaboration was needed for your Chris Berman selection.
ReplyDeletebaby Jesus weeps
DeleteWell, you know Leaf is headquartered in Texas, so maybe they're the ones who are driving up your butt and jumping grocery store lines!
ReplyDeleteJust want to fan the flames here...
The drivers are definitely Texas-centric. I go to other places and there are not nearly as many pick-ups and not nearly as many bullies behind the wheel (NYC excluded)
Deleteoh, and I didn't know Leaf is in Texas! Hell, I didn't realize they still were in business. I may send them a note.
DeleteAs an escaped Long Islander, I'm glad to see drivers from another state being mentioned in the same sentence as NYC. I don't suggest that anybody's as aggressive and rude as New Yorkers, but we most decidedly do not have a monopoly on unpleasant people. :-)
DeleteJoe, I've driven all over the NY Metro area and outside of Manhattan I've fine with it. Now, the city.... Last fall I was coming down 9th and trying to get to the right for the Lincoln Tunnel lanes. I'd have gotten someone to hand me $100 sooner than I would have gotten someone to let me into the queue. LOL Then again, those might have been Jersey people heading that way.
DeleteYou were driving in Manhattan? Well, there's your problem right there. I'll assume you had no choice in the situation, but in my 16 years as a licensed driver living on Long Island I drove in to The City just three times and wouldn't even have thought about it if I weren't in a rush and going against traffic after 5pm on a weeknight... otherwise, that's what the train is for.
DeleteBut yeah, a buncha jerks like that hadda been from Jersey.
Man... the grocery line thing really bugs me. Want another one? I was at Starbucks yesterday and I held the door open for four different people. Did any of them offer me their spot? Nope... I got stuck at the back of the line. In the end it was okay... I was able to take in SB's air conditioning a few minutes longer ;-)
ReplyDeleteBy the way... I received your two packages and finally got around to popping them open. Thanks a million! Here's a link to my thank you post...

I've had the 'hold the door thing happen. I also had a lady pay for my coffee one time so maybe it evens out. Speaking of Starbucks...I witnessed a guy tip a Batista with a $100 bill a few months ago. He wasn't hitting on her, they'd been talking about her driving so far to classes and he said 'this is for your commute'. And he walked out.
DeleteThat happened to me a few years ago. I was in the SB's drive-thru and they told me a lady ahead of me had paid for the next $20 worth of drinks. Reminds me... it's about time for me to pay if forward.
